Sarah is an associate and she works for a wide variety of commercial clients advising on landlord and tenant legal issues and is largely involved in the management of their property portfolios which includes disposals, acquisitions, granting new leases, renewals, assignments, licences for alterations, surrenders and other supplemental deeds.

Sarah is also part of the firm's ports and marine team working for a number of the firm's key clients such as the Marine Estate division of The Crown Estate and Associated British Ports. Sarah is instructed principally in respect of their foreshore property dealings.

Sarah is fluent in French.

Experience

Examples of experience include advising:

  • The Crown Estate –drafting and negotiating the documentation for various sales and leases of their foreshore interests around the coast. Advising and negotiating the replacement of substantial guarantees required for a pipeline serving a power station, documenting  the creation of a new type of surf reef on the south coast and separately the sinking of vessels in the sea for the creation of a diving wreck and first known art installation under the sea. Recently negotiating the documentation for the development of the harbour at Dover to create a new marina with breakwaters
  • Rockspring UK Value Fund – managing three retail portfolios on behalf of the client including documenting the new leases to well known high street retailers, various regearing transactions within the Centres, and recently documenting the various surrenders and variations required to create a new unit within one of the schemes
  • Hartwell – Sale of a former dealership site for the client subject to the buyer obtaining planning permission for the construction of a 180 bed nursing home. Acquiring strips of land for the client by adverse possession applications and playing lead role on the sale.

Awarded as the firm's employee of the year for the Crown Estate for 2016/17 for excellent service for her work with agents and coastal managers.

Sarah was noted in particular by the Crown Estate in their 2016 firm review for a "commercial approach."
