Mariam Stockton is an entertainment lawyer and trial attorney who advises artists, business managers, and music industry executives in high-stakes business disputes, crisis situations, and strategic decision-making.

Mariam represents award-winning recording artists, business management firms, artist managers, agents, and independent labels across all phases of a dispute, from early risk assessment and relationship planning to litigation and trial. She is frequently called upon when sensitive business decisions, strained relationships, or evolving deal dynamics create the potential for conflict. Her practice focuses on helping clients protect their business interests, preserve key relationships, and avoid litigation where possible, while positioning them for success if disputes cannot be avoided.

In addition to her advisory work, Mariam has significant trial experience in state and federal courts, including matters involving artist-manager disputes, copyright and royalty claims, contract disputes, and other entertainment-related conflicts. She is known for guiding clients through high-pressure situations involving reputational risk, internal team breakdowns, and complex negotiations involving multiple stakeholders.

Mariam works closely with business managers and other trusted advisors to provide practical, business-focused legal guidance tailored to the realities of the music industry. Her approach prioritizes discretion, responsiveness, and sound judgment in moments where timing and strategy are critical.

She has been recognized by Billboard as a “Top Music Lawyer” and by The Best Lawyers in America® for her work in commercial litigation.
