Womble Carlyle attorney Scott Schaaf has been appointed the Chair of the Real Property Section of the North Carolina Bar Association for 2015-2016. Schaaf previously served as the Real Property Section’s Vice Chair in 2014-15 and Treasurer in 2013-14.

The Real Property Section is one of the NCBA’s largest sections with more than 2,100 active members. The section sponsors CLE programs and services; provides members with a substantive newsletter (Real Property); and helps mold the association's legislative agenda for presentation to the NC General Assembly.

Scott Schaaf has a wide range of experience in real estate development and finance transactions. He focuses his real estate practice on the acquisition and sale of commercial and industrial properties and the negotiation of retail, office and industrial leases. He focuses his finance practice on structuring, negotiating and documenting corporate and real estate finance transactions, including multi-state, multi-lender (syndications) and multi-currency transactions. Schaaf practices in Womble Carlyle’s Winston-Salem office.
