The Client Choice Awards are given in cooperation with the Association of Corporate Counsel and Lexology, one of the world’s leading outlets for legal news. More than 2,500 nominations were received this year.

Established in 2005, Client Choice recognizes those law firms and partners around the world that stand apart for the excellent client care they provide and the quality of their service. The criteria for this recognition focus on an ability to add real value to clients' businesses above and beyond the other players in the market. Attorneys can be nominated only by corporate counsel.

Chris Gyves is a partner in Womble Carlyle’s Corporate & Securities Practice Group and Chair of the Firm’s Public Company Advisors Team, a multi-office team consisting of corporate, capital markets and tax attorneys who service the firm’s public company clients. Gyves has substantial experience in corporate finance, securities regulation, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, strategic partnering and technology transfer. He practices in Womble Carlyle’s Charlotte, N.C. office.

Dr. Julie Meigs focuses her practice on biotechnology patent prosecution, opinion work, and client counseling. Her work includes the design and implementation of global intellectual property strategies, including life cycle management for pharmaceuticals and agricultural biotechnology. She practices in Womble Carlyle’s Northern Virginia office.

Jimmy Powell has many years of experience litigating employment and labor-related issues before federal and state courts, administrative agencies, and the National Labor Relations Board. He is an experienced trial attorney who has represented a broad spectrum of clients in jury and nonjury trials in more than 20 states. He also is experienced in wage and hour law, having handled numerous administrative investigations by the Department of Labor's Wage and Hour Division and lawsuits filed by the Secretary of Labor. Powell practices in Womble Carlyle’s Greensboro, N.C. office.

Dean Rutley is a veteran transactions attorney with 30 years of experience representing companies in a wide range of corporate, transactional, and securities matters. His practice is primarily focused on mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and venture capital transactions for middle market companies (both public and private) with an emphasis in the financial, telecommunications, technology and government contracting sectors.  He currently serves as General Counsel to the Association for Corporate Growth, National Capital Chapter and as a Member of the Board of Advisors for the George Washington University Law School Government Contracts Program. Mr. Rutley has also been recognized as a BTI Client Service MVP for 2014 and 2015.
