PHILADELPHIA—Womble Bond Dickinson attorney Alexandra Villarreal O’Rourke recently began her tenure as Region VI President of the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA). Region VI of the HNBA covers North and South Carolina.

The Region VI HNBA chapter hosts a number of networking and professional development activities throughout the year, including an annual GC Forum featuring the top attorneys of some of the most prominent Charlotte-based companies. In past years, the event has included representatives from Bank of America, Red ventures, the Panthers, Belk, Passport, Duke Energy, and many others. This year, the chapter is also planning several events designed to grow the pipeline of Latino students who plan to enter the legal profession.

The HNBA is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, national membership organization that represents the interests of Hispanic legal professionals in the United States and its territories. The organization also is committed to advocacy on issues of importance to the 58 million people of Hispanic heritage living in the US.

Alexandra Villarreal O’Rourke leads Womble Bond Dickinson’s Financial Regulatory team and co-leads the firm’s Fintech team. She draws upon her background in the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) to advise clients on mission-critical compliance questions and risk management as well as state and federal financial regulatory engagement, investigations, and enforcement. She also has significant experience on Fintech and Artificial Intelligence regulatory matters and helps clients navigate the evolving legal terrains on those topics.
