Womble Bond Dickinson’s Triangle offices (Raleigh and Research Triangle Park, N.C.) have been named winners of the Triangle Business Journal’s Community Champion Awards for 2026.

 

The Community Champion Awards program “is designed to recognize winners that have shown an exceptional commitment to strengthening the communities they serve through both external and internal initiatives, including community outreach and engagement in the workplace,” according to the Triangle Business Journal. This year’s class includes 16 individuals and 15 organizations.

 

The recognition reflects years of support for initiatives addressing food insecurity and youth needs in the Triangle. Through participation in the North Carolina Bar Association’s Legal Feeding Frenzy campaign, Womble’s Raleigh and RTP offices raised over $20,000 in 2026. 

 

The award also recognizes the Triangle offices’ support of the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina through the annual Pie-in-July fundraiser. For 23 years, employees have participated in the bake-off competition, helping raise more than $33,000 over the past five years.

 

In addition, the Triangle offices have raised more than $65,000 through Haven House Services’ Law Firm Challenge and have supported the organization through volunteer projects, including assembling hygiene kits and filling backpacks for local students.

 

The Community Champion Award recognizes not only the impact of those contributions but also the culture of service fostered across the Triangle offices through fundraising, volunteerism, and community engagement.

 

“Community Service is a long-standing tradition at our firm. We want to do our part to make the Triangle a better place to live and work,” said Womble Bond Dickinson Triangle Office Managing Partner Jon Mize. “We are honored that the Triangle Business Journal has named us a 2026 Community Champion.”

 

The 2026 winners will be honored at a luncheon on Oct. 8 at The Umstead Hotel and Spa in Cary and spotlighted in a Triangle Business Journal special section published the following day.
