Womble Bond Dickinson is committed to diversity and inclusion at all levels of the firm. As part of this commitment, the FMC has approved the enclosed Inclusion Strategy for 2015-16, which was presented by the Diversity Committee. The goals of the strategy include increasing the number of attorneys of color, expediting the movement of women attorneys into positions of leadership, and making welcome attorneys from the LGBT legal community.
This Inclusion Strategy also recommends having an elected FMC member to serve as Co-Chair of the Diversity Committee. Keith Mendelson has agreed to serve in this role.
“Having an FMC member serve in a leadership role puts clout behind our commitment to diversity and inclusion,” said Brent Clinkscale, long-time Chair of the firm’s Diversity Committee. “I welcome Keith to the Diversity Committee and look forward to working with him to achieve the ambitious goals of our Inclusion Strategy.”
Keith Mendelson said, “Inclusion and diversity are important to our clients and they are important to our firm. Brent and the Diversity Committee have made great strides to promote a more inclusive workplace, and I am proud to be working with them to continue these efforts.”
“This Inclusion Strategy not only outlines our diversity-related goals, it also provides us with a roadmap to reach those goals,” said Keith Vaughan.
Firm Chair Betty Temple said, “The Inclusion Strategy is the result of a great deal of hard work from a wide range of people. We look forward to implementing this strategy and achieving its ambitious and worthwhile goals.
