Former Presidents of Guatemala & Ecuador to Headline Two-Day Event
Latin America is increasingly becoming an attractive option for foreign investors. Foreign investment dropped in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic but rebounded strongly in 2021 and 2022. Global companies have realized that a strong Latin American presence is a vital part of their overall growth strategy.
On March 2-3, Womble Bond Dickinson will present its first-ever Latin America Summit in New York City. The Summit will examine the opportunities and considerations of doing business in Latin America and will begin with a panel discussion with former Presidents of Guatemala and Ecuador.
A full day of programming follows with a presentation by the Inter-American Development Bank and panels moderated by WBD lawyers addressing a myriad of business and legal considerations when doing business with Latin America. Day 2 also will include a keynote address by Minister Jose Manuel Restrepo, former Secretary of the Treasury of Colombia. We will close the Summit with Dr. Juan José Daboub, ThinkHUGE President of the Board, where he will discuss LATAM Companies and their impact on economic development in the United States.
Other session topics will include:
The panelists will include in-house counsel, government officials and business leaders working in the Latin American economy.
The Womble Bond Dickinson Latin America Summit is designed for counsel, c-suite and executives in companies with current or future operations in the region, those who rely on goods and services from Latin America, or LATAM companies interested in US expansion.
