Womble Adds Senior Counsel Jill Canfield to Boost Corporate & Securities Team

Washington, D.C. (September 2, 2025) – Womble Bond Dickinson announced today that Jill Canfield has joined the firm’s Corporate & Securities Practice Group as senior counsel in Washington, D.C.
Canfield brings more than 25 years of experience in telecommunications, technology, corporate, association, and nonprofit law and policy. She previously served as General Counsel and Vice President of Policy at NTCA–The Rural Broadband Association, where she led regulatory advocacy and provided in-house counsel on governance, compliance, cybersecurity, and strategic partnerships. At NTCA, Canfield also oversaw the launch and operations of CyberShare: The Small Broadband Provider ISAC and advised on risk management, contracts, licensing, and organizational operations. Her experience includes board governance, antitrust, transactional matters, and legal issues affecting nonprofits and cooperatives.
A longtime advocate for rural broadband, Canfield has worked extensively with public and private stakeholders to expand digital infrastructure. She is a frequent speaker on broadband deployment, cybersecurity, telecommunications policy, and board governance.

Canfield is a member of the American Bar Association and Federal Communications Bar Association. She has served on the boards of the NG911 Institute, DC5G Advisory Board, and the Capitol Chapter of JDRF. She also volunteers with the Girl Scouts of the Nation’s Capital and Canine Companions, raising puppies for service dog training.
She earned her J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law and a B.S. in broadcast journalism from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.
