For the seventh consecutive year, Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP has been named one of the Best Places to Work for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) workplace equality.

The firm earned a perfect score of 100 percent on the 2021 Corporate Equality Index (CEI). The CEI is a national benchmarking survey/report on corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ workplace equality and is administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP has earned a perfect CEI score every year since 2015.

Working toward equality is an ever-evolving process, and we can never rest on our laurels. But I think being named a Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality for seven straight years shows that Womble Bond Dickinson has worked hard to make respect for all a cornerstone of our workplace culture.

The 2021 HRC Corporate Equality Index measured companies across four key pillars:

  • Non-discrimination policies across business entities;
  • Equitable benefits for LGBTQ workers and their families;
  • Supporting an inclusive culture and corporate social responsibility; and
  • Responsible citizenship.

By meeting all of the criteria used to grade companies in these categories, Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP earned a 100 percent ranking and the designation as a Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality.

“The Corporate Equality Index is particularly useful because it identifies practical, real-world benchmarks we can aim for as we build a more inclusive and supportive workplace,” said Kevin Lyn, Co-Chair of the firm’s Diversity Committee. “We are honored to be recognized by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation once again.”

“Diverse, inclusive workplaces are better equipped to serve 21st Century clients and compete in the global marketplace. It’s no coincidence that many of our clients also were named to the Corporate Equality Index,” said Merrick Benn, Co-Chair of the firm’s Diversity Committee. “Striving for equality and inclusivity is good business—and it’s also just the right thing to do.”

The Human Rights Campaign Foundation is the educational arm of America’s largest civil rights organization working to achieve equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual transgender and queer people. HRC envisions a world where LGBTQ people are embraced as full members of society at home, at work and in every community.
