Womble Bond Dickinson Partner Paul Fogleman has been inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys (ACMA).

Formed in 1974, the ACMA is comprised of 500 lawyers in North America who are experts in mortgage law. ACMA Fellows share a commitment to giving back to their profession, improving and reforming laws and procedures affecting real estate secured transactions, and raising the level of professionalism of lawyers practicing in this area.

Fellows have distinguished themselves as practitioners in the field of real estate mortgage law through their skills and practice experience, bar association activities, lecturing, authoring articles and program materials, participating in the legislative process, and writing briefs and/or arguing cases that are significant to mortgage transactions.

Paul represents banks, private lenders and borrowers in a variety of finance transactions, including real estate secured facilities, middle market corporate and institutional lending, asset based lending and non-traditional collateral financings.  In addition, Fogleman regularly represents lenders in participations and syndications as well as mezzanine and preferred equity transactions, including the drafting and negotiating of subordination and intercreditor agreements.  He also handles modifications, workouts and restructurings of the foregoing.

Paul has extensive experience representing owners and developers in many aspects of real estate transactions, including financings, acquisitions and sales, developments, leases, title review, and due diligence analysis. He frequently serves as North Carolina counsel in the issuance of local counsel real estate and enforceability opinions. He also regularly handles residential closings and general corporate matters on a pro bono basis for Habitat for Humanity of Wake County.

He practices in Womble Bond Dickinson’s Raleigh and Charlotte, N.C. offices.
