North Carolina Lawyers Weekly Honors Kim Stogner as a N.C. Excellence in Law ICON

Womble Bond Dickinson Partner Kim Stogner has been named a North Carolina Excellence in Law ICON by North Carolina Lawyers Weekly. This ICON award honors senior members of the bar with more than 30 years of practice and who are guiding lights of the local legal community.
Stogner recently completed a term as President of the North Carolina Bar Association. She also served as 2024-25 President of the North Carolina Bar Foundation, the charitable organization that leads pro bono and civic education efforts for the NCBA.
At Womble Bond Dickinson, she serves as a leader of the firm’s Private Wealth Sector Team and is a member of its Wealth Management Industry Team. She is also ranked in the Chambers High Net Worth Guide for Private Wealth Law. She brings significant experience advising clients as trusted counsel on estate planning matters, and her business background is frequently relied upon by investment advisory firms and corporate fiduciaries navigating estate and trust administration and related disputes. She is a Fellow of the American College of Trusts and Estates Counsel (ACTEC) and a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning and Probate Law with the North Carolina State Bar.
Before attending Wake Forest University School of Law, she worked as a personal trust officer for two national banking corporations and earned the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation.
Stogner also has an extensive record of community service, serving on the Wake Forest University Law School Board of Visitors as well as the boards of the Salemtowne Retirement Community, Forsyth Technical Community College Foundation, Winston-Salem Arts Council Endowment Fund, United Way of Forsyth County Foundation, and more.
NC Excellence in Law honorees are selected by a panel of judges comprised of members of North Carolina Lawyers Weekly’s editorial and leadership team. Nominations, applications and letters of recommendations are evaluated based on professional accomplishments, bar leadership, community service, pro bono work and mentoring.
The honorees were celebrated at an April 23 awards celebration at the Friday Conference Center in Chapel Hill, N.C. Womble was a Celebration Sponsor of this event.
