Womble Bond Dickinson Partner Karthika Perumal will present “Just for Startups: Licensing from a University & University IP Policy Basics” at NUTech Ventures’ upcoming “From Idea to Startup” workshop on Wednesday, June 28 in Lincoln, Nebraska. The workshop is a two-day event that provides training and networking opportunities that allows participants to explore how to move from having an idea to launching a start-up company, while networking with local entrepreneurship resources and qualified professionals within the Lincoln-area startup ecosystems. 

NUTech Ventures is the nonprofit technology commercialization affiliate of the University of Nebraska, serving the Lincoln and Kearney campuses. NUTech evaluates, protects, markets and licenses the university’s intellectual property to promote economic development and improve quality of life.

Perumal guides companies in all aspects of technology law with an emphasis on the protection, acquisition, and monetization of intellectual property. She advises clients on joint development agreements and other patent and transactional matters in the healthcare and energy sectors across a wide range of technologies, such as biotechnology, biomedical devices, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, oil and gas processing, and software.
