Womble Bond Dickinson Partner Joe Whitley, the former General Counsel for the Department of Homeland Security, will speak at the American Bar Association’s Administrative Law and Regulatory Practice Session’s Virtual Live Spring CLE Conference.
Whitley will moderate a panel discussion on “Cybersecurity and the Intelligence Community: How They Work Together and How You Can Work with Them.”
The conference takes place May 13. Participants will have the opportunity to hear best practices from cyber and intelligence experts, and learn how to protect your clients within applicable laws, rules and regulations, together with learning about effective cybersecurity compliance plans. This panel will also discuss how to best notify law enforcement and the intelligence community before, during, and after a cybersecurity incident and/or breach.
Joining Whitley will be Jen Daskal, acting Principal Deputy General Counsel, U.S. Department of Homeland Security; Tim Gaither, Director of the Preparedness, Emergency Support, and Security Division, Pipelines and Hazardous Materials Administration, U.S. Department of Transportation; and Jim Halpert, General Counsel, Office of the National Cyber Director.
Whitley also serves as a Program Chair for the Homeland Security Law Institute.
