Mammen has anchored the firm’s West Coast IP litigation practice since early 2019. His firm leadership also includes serving on Womble Bond Dickinson’s Global Board (which oversees the firm’s transatlantic capabilities) as well as the firm’s Innovation Board, which promotes new ideas and approaches in a wide range of business activities.
He takes over this leadership role from John Morrow, who has led the IP Litigation team for the past 10 years. Morrow has steered the team through extraordinary events ranging from the historic addition of U.S. post-grant proceedings to the IP landscape to a global pandemic.
During Morrow’s tenure, Womble Bond Dickinson’s the IP litigation team has grown from fewer than 12 attorneys in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic to more than 40 lawyers in 10 offices from coast to coast.

Womble Bond Dickinson’s US IP Litigation Team helps clients protect and defend their important business interests. The team represents companies in asserting claims against infringers and also in defending against claims of infringement. Their broad litigation experience includes assertions of patent infringement, copyright infringement, trademark infringement, misappropriation of trade secrets, and related antitrust or unfair competition claims. From 2014-2019, Womble attorneys handled over 400 intellectual property cases in 45 federal district courts.
