Womble Bond Dickinson Partner David Vance Lucas will speak on “Innovation and Intellectual Property” at the IEEE-USA Innovation, Workforce, and Research Conference (IWRC). Lucas is expected to address the intersection of Foreign Direct Investment and advanced semiconductor research and development under the CHIPS Act.
He will be joined in the presentation by Hulya Kirkici, Ph.D., Chair of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the University of South Alabama.
The IWRC will bring together gather industry, government, and academic leaders in Huntsville, Ala., to explore the CHIPS Act and other initiatives supporting innovation and small businesses in the southeast. The event takes place December 3-4 in Huntsville, Ala.
Congress has earmarked $56 billion through the CHIPS Act for U.S. chip manufacturing, ensuring nationwide distribution of funds. This conference offers a valuable chance to connect with representatives from U.S. federal agencies and learn how you can engage with Alabama’s and the southeast's innovation landscape.
