The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) has had a major effect on the collection and reporting of consumer data. The consumer privacy law, which went into effect Jan. 1, 2020, can impact businesses even if they don’t have employees or locations in California.

Tara Cho leads Womble Bond Dickinson's Privacy and Cybersecurity Team and has been closely tracking the CCPA for years. In this presentation, she spoke on “Early Lessons from California’s Consumer Privacy Act” at the 2020 Privacy & Data Security Section CLE, presented by the North Carolina Bar Association.
