The road to 100% renewable energy may be long and circuitous for a host of factors, not the least being that renewable sources likely will rely on existing infrastructure and fossil fuels for some time to come.  Still, there are many existing and evolving technologies that pave the way to a low-carbon and “greener” world, with the oil and gas majors helping to lead the investment charge.  The technologies being developed, funded, or acquired by existing energy players will likely prove to be the outperforming assets in our “greener” energy future.  This presentation was originally recorded for the 2021 World Intellectual Property Forum.
