This event took place on January 20-23, 2022.
South Carolina, and the Southeast in general, has been booming with economic development activity in recent years. Stephanie Yarbrough, Partner and Co-Chair of Womble Bond Dickinson’s Economic Development Team, has followed these trends closely and has guided clients in some of the biggest, most complex deals.
On Friday, January 21, Yarbrough presented “Economic Development in South Carolina – A Case Study” at the South Carolina Bar Convention.
This presentation addressed the incentive, real estate, environmental, tax and corporate considerations often faced by companies undertaking large-scale projects in the state. Yarbrough walked through the typical stages of an economic development project for a company looking to expand or relocate their operations to South Carolina. With a multitude of legal considerations involved, from the beginning of the site selection process to long past the point when the shovel hits the ground, Yarbrough shared her extensive knowledge gained from working on some of the largest economic development projects in the Southeast.
