Arturo (“Art”) E. Sandoval focuses his practice on representing businesses in complex commercial litigation and product liability cases. He guides general counsels and chief legal officers of Fortune 500 corporations on managing mass torts, intellectual property, commercial contracts, and employment issues. He has first chaired trials and has significant experience trying jury cases in San Francisco and Los Angeles.
With 20 years of experience in intellectual property, Art also advises clients on patent portfolios, trademark disputes, copyrights, licensing agreements, and trade secrets. He has also represented high-tech companies in patent trials, arbitrations, and mediations. Arturo has successfully obtained a trademark through the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He previously served as the Production Editor and as an Articles Editor for New Matter, the official publication of the Intellectual Property Law Section of the State Bar of California. Art published one article in New Matter titled “If it ain’t broke…” dealing with the “entire market value rule” pertaining to damages in a patent cases.
He previously served as President of the San Francisco La Raza Lawyers Association (2010-2011) and has been active in past years with the Hispanic National Bar Association.
Prior to becoming an attorney Art served active duty in the United States Army as a Military Policeman where he enforced the laws under the Uniform Code of Military Justice on Army bases. He was also deployed.
