Michelle is an associate in the firm's Environmental Group, focusing on regulatory matters across industries including energy, utilities, and natural resources. Her experience includes matters related to: 

  • Regulated and cooperative utilities, including transmission planning, rate-regulation, and complaint cases before state public utilities commissions;
  • Environmental permitting for renewable energy, mining, and industrial projects;
  • Development of mining and energy projects on public lands;
  • Purchase and sale of properties with significant water, mineral, or other natural resource components; and
  • Wetlands issues, including waters of the United States determinations and Clean Water Act Section 404 permitting.

While in law school at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, Michelle was the Case Note and Comment Editor for the Denver Law Review, President of the Law Student Ambassadors, and Chancellor Scholars Board Member. She served as a Student Attorney in the Civil Litigation Clinic, interned for Justice Melissa Hart of the Colorado Supreme Court, Judge Kristen Mix of the U.S. District Court of Colorado, and the Colorado Attorney General’s Office—Consumer Protection Unit, and was a Teaching Assistant for Legal Writing, Civil Procedure, and Criminal Law.

In her free time, Michelle enjoys long-distance running, swimming, reading, cooking, and traveling with her husband.
