Michael Waskiewicz is a partner in Womble’s Finance, Bankruptcy & Restructuring practice group, representing financial institutions, lenders, and other creditors in complex commercial and consumer matters. He maintains a national practice focused on replevin and bankruptcy matters, helping clients navigate distressed situations with a practical, results-driven approach.

From early-stage loan workouts and litigation strategy through judgment enforcement and recovery, he regularly advises on the full lifecycle of troubled assets. His work includes commercial loan disputes, lender liability defense, contract matters, and mortgage foreclosures, as well as pursuing remedies such as replevin and detinue actions on a nationwide basis, defending forfeiture claims, and handling deficiency litigation.

Within his bankruptcy practice, Michael works across Chapters 7, 11, 12, and 13, addressing issues such as plan objections, motions for relief from stay, and valuation disputes in courts across the country. Because he has represented debtors, trustees, and creditors, he brings a broad, practical perspective that allows him to anticipate competing interests and guide clients toward efficient, strategic outcomes.
