Louis Rossitto

Louis Rossitto brings a versatile skill set to his consumer finance practice, drawing on extensive experience in municipal real estate law and land use. He advises financial institutions, mortgage companies, consumer lenders, sales finance companies, FinTechs, and other financial services clients on state and federal regulatory matters.

A significant portion of Louis’s work focuses on residential mortgage lenders, servicers, and investors, as well as retail consumer lending and licensing compliance. He also counsels clients on real estate issues unique to Texas, including homestead and home equity matters, community property, and marital property rights. Additionally, he supports corporate transactions through due diligence, purchase agreements, and merger and acquisition documentation.

Louis previously served as Assistant City Attorney for the City of Houston, where he helped the City and its residents navigate complex land use issues in a jurisdiction without zoning laws. In that role, he litigated land use violations, represented the City in hearings and negotiations—including dangerous building proceedings—enforced land use restrictions, and protested liquor license applications for problematic businesses. He also practiced at a Houston law firm, conducting numerous trials in the collection of consumer debt.
