Louis Froelich is a financial services regulatory and technology attorney who has worked in New York City for the better part of two decades in various legal and non-legal roles. He values long-term relationships and believes his time spent in sales and business development helps him better understand his clients and their goals.

Louis advises hedge, private equity, venture, and other private fund managers on critical legal and business decisions, helping them manage their regulatory and compliance obligations and launch new funds and other products. He also serves as outside general counsel to fintech and other technology companies.

Louis joined Womble from one of the world’s largest systematic hedge funds. He first worked as an attorney for the fund business, supporting IR, client service, business development, operations, and compliance. He then served as head of legal and compliance for a B2B SaaS data analytics startup incubated by the fund. In this role, Louis led the creation and scaling of the company’s legal and compliance program, helping the company establish an enduring SaaS contractual structure and IP framework and managing the company’s SEC and CFTC legal and compliance programs. He later transitioned to a senior business role, leading the company's strategic business development and data strategy, which helped him better appreciate how businesses are built and operate.

Before going in-house, Louis began his career at Am Law 100 firms in New York City, working in financial services and corporate departments.
