Louis spent eight years inside one of the world’s largest quantitative hedge funds and emerged at the intersection of traditional and digital asset management. His clients include asset managers building technology products or running tech-enabled strategies, fintech operators with regulated components, and digital asset firms entering the industry mainstream. Louis and his team cover the regulatory (SEC, CFTC, FinCEN) and commercial layers (fund formation and compliance, SaaS, partnerships) in one practice.
Before joining Womble, Louis spent eight years at Two Sigma Investments in New York. He started as an attorney supporting the fund’s investor relations, client service, business development, operations, and compliance functions, then served as Head of Legal & Compliance for Venn, the firm’s B2B SaaS data analytics platform. He later led Venn’s strategic business development and data strategy in a senior commercial role outside the legal function — an experience that informs how he advises today.
Louis’s practice is advisory in nature and he often serves as outside general counsel to both fintech companies and fund managers.
