Kerry specialises in debt recovery matters arising from commercial institutions including those in connection with retail, infrastructure, finance and HR. In addition, she supervises the debt recovery paralegal team.
She has experience in securing high-value payments for a national infrastructure company and also undertaking alternative dispute resolution with customers of retail clients including involvement of third party experts. Kerry also works on financial service matters to include indemnity commission debts for Individual Financial Advisers and appointed representatives, salary overpayments and mortgage shortfall. 

As well as securing repayments, Kerry works with her clients, their project teams and the entities they are pursuing to facilitate communication and negotiation. This often achieves resolution and avoids legal proceedings.
Kerry has experience of issuing claims, and securing & enforcing Judgment Orders as well as insolvency procedures, and also works with colleagues and clients to provide advice in relation to the commerciality of pursuing and securing debt.

Experience
Examples of experience includes:
  • Issuing small claims proceedings and securing Judgment against a defended claim alleging constructive dismissal & sexual discrimination. Able to successfully respond to the defence and submit pleadings to enable the Court to strike out the defence and enter Judgment on behalf of our client without the need for a full trial
  • Successfully securing an Order for Costs in addition to the principal debt in a Small Claims trial by evidencing our attempts to settle with the Defendant prior to hearing
  • Involvement in complex insolvency proceedings whereby multiple hearings were listed over the course of the matter and securing over £9,000 in costs for our client in addition to the bankruptcy dividend
  • Securing an 85% recovery statistic for a debt referral of over £2.6m on infrastructure related debts
  • Providing in-house training for clients in order to promote and increase chances of successful debt recovery.
