Fiona is a partner at Womble Bond Dickinson. She has over 20 years’ experience dealing with acquisitions and disposals of investment, retail and industrial property, landlord and tenant issues and general estate and portfolio management with specific expertise in advising corporate occupiers.

She has represented some high profile organisations in connection with their property portfolios, involving disposals and acquisitions and lettings of investment and operational properties. Her broad experience means she has a full understanding of the diverse range of issues that face clients with operational property portfolios and the costs and business pressures which most clients face in managing these.

Fiona has particular specialisms both in retail and in rail. She represents a major rail infrastructure organisation in connection with is property requirements and has acted for many years on behalf of a rail freight operator so has a wealth of rail related property expertise.

Experience

  • Conducting negotiations with the London Development Agency on behalf of a number of clients in relation to their relocation arrangements from the Olympic Zone, including relocating 4 sizeable businesses to alternative sites, dealing with overage conditionality on planning/environmental issues and the development agreements
  • Representing many corporate clients, including The BBC in the acquisition of new build headquarter premises including advising on, negotiating agreements for lease, including options, conditional agreements, dealing with construction issues and negotiating in the context of relocation and exit strategies from existing sites
  • Acting on behalf of a rail freight operator both in connection with the acquisition of a new rail freight depot and the disposal of a site for £16m, including overage provisions to a pension fund for redevelopment
  • Retail – acting on behalf of a number of retailers including Screwfix Direct Ltd in relation to its roll-out and subsequent trade counter expansion programme.
