Elisha is an Associate who trained with the firm and qualified into the Commercial Disputes & Regulatory team in September 2017. She advises and represents clients in complex disputes issued in the Commercial and High Courts, including proceedings relating to the energy and natural resource sector and retail sector.
Elisha has extensive experience of engaging in pre-action correspondence on behalf of clients in relation to alleged claims of breach of contract, passing off, infringement of IP rights, misuse of confidential information and sensitive claims under s28 of the Equality Act 2010, as well as preparing for and attending interim hearings, case management conferences and trial.
Elisha assists a varied portfolio of clients in order to resolve disputes through alternative dispute resolution methods, including representing clients during mediation (both in-person and remotely post Covid-19) and arbitral proceedings.
Elisha has experience working in-house, having undertaken a secondment with B&Q's employment team.
Experience
Examples of experience include:
- Representing a householder energy provider and supervising members of the firm's Legal Solutions Centre team in respect of the same since 2017. This includes: complex consumption claims involving large-scale portfolios; strategic advice regarding settlement (attending mediations and without prejudice meetings); Judicial Review proceedings; injunctive proceedings; defending large-scale claims brought by customers or third party contractors and suppliers.
- Conducting and managing large scale disclosure reviews, including liaising with third party electronic data collection specialists. Elisha has extensive experience of using e-Disclosure platforms such as Relativity and Everlaw in order to run e-discovery projects and tasks, and regularly offers this service to other teams and clients.
- Working alongside the employment team in respect of a worker and employment status case, which included defending the client from group litigation and assessing the risks in their workforce. Elisha's role included managing and reviewing the client's expansive disclosure on an ongoing basis and assessing the potential impact and risks of certain documents.
- Representing The Insolvency Service in proceedings brought pursuant to the Company Directors Disqualification Act 1986 during the period of 2020-2023. This included attending various interim hearings, a 10-week hybrid trial and liaising with multiple third party witnesses.
