Courtney’s practice includes a broad range of matters, including labor and employment law, financial services litigation, and environmental law. She has experience handling class and collective actions in federal and state courts and arbitration forums across the county.

Courtney represents large institutional clients in class and collective actions for violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act (“FLSA”), state employment laws, California’s Private Attorneys General Act (“PAGA”), Telephone Consumer Protection Act (“TCPA”), Fair Credit Reporting Act (“FCRA”), Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (“FDCPA”) and false advertising laws. She also handles individual lawsuits and arbitrations across the country under these statutes, as well as with claims for discrimination, harassment, retaliation, fraud, identity theft, unfair competition, and violation of California’s Proposition 65. Courtney has prior experience with personal injury, product liability, and toxic tort matters.

Courtney has advised companies on their employee handbooks and employee policies, including bonus structures, meal and rest breaks, and final pay policies.  Courtney has also revised employment and independent contractor agreements for her clients.  Previously, Courtney worked with companies to ensure that their collections procedures were in line with the TCPA and FDCPA. She has also advised companies on how to avoid TCPA violations in connection with telephone and facsimile advertising campaigns.
