Catherine joined the Corporate department on qualification in 2013, having completed her training contract with the firm.

Catherine has experience across a broad range of corporate transactions, including private company acquisitions and disposals, public company fundraisings, group reorganisations and private equity investments.  She advises clients on a variety of commercial and corporate matters, including partnership arrangements, joint venture agreements, transitional services and confidentiality agreements, and also has extensive experience in managing verification exercises for public companies, as well as due diligence and disclosure.

Catherine's training contract included a six-month secondment working in-house with an international car manufacturer, where she advised on a range of general commercial contracts.

Catherine was nominated as Young Dealmaker of the Year at the North East's Insider Media Dealmakers Awards 2016.  She currently works across the Leeds and Newcastle offices.

Examples of experience include advising:
  • Atom Bank plc, a new challenger bank, in respect of various fundraisings totalling over £200million, including its £135m fundraising in 2016, which won the Deal of the Year £10m+ award at the North East's Insider Media Dealmakers Awards 2016
  • Vertu Motors plc on its £35million placing in 2016, as well as on a number of motor retail dealership acquisitions, (in particular, its acquisition of the Hillendale Group in May 2014 and its acquisition of Sigma Holdings Limited in March 2016)
  • Kilfrost, one of the world's leading suppliers of aircraft de-icing and anti-icing products, on the disposal of its American and Asian de-icing and anti-icing business in 2015 and on the grant of an exclusive licence to produce a range of products under its brand in continental Europe in 2016
  • A leading global accounting software provider on a £1billion multi-jurisdictional hedging reorganisation.
