Brad Wood has over 23 years of experience representing the interests of North Carolina counties and Sheriffs and their respective deputies, employees, agents and representatives in federal and North Carolina state courts and forums. Brad provides unbounded commitment and dedication to personal attention and service for his clients.

Brad combines a deep respect and consideration for the difficult duties, responsibilities, and challenges his clients undertake on a daily basis with a skilled understanding of the intricacies of civil rights litigation in order to reach just and efficient results and solutions to what are often very complex and emotional situations.

In addition to his civilian legal practice, Brad proudly served for over 29 years in the United States Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps in both the Active and Reserve components.  Brad’s military career encompassed a host of varied and challenging assignments,  including deployments to Iraqand  Bosnia-Herzegovina, an overseas tour of duty in the Federal Republic of Germany, a 3-year Reserve assignment as the Command Judge Advocate for the 1st Mission Support Command headquarterd at Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico, and culminating with the honor and privilege of serving for 3 years as the Commander of the 134th Legal Operations Detachment headquartered at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.  Brad retired from the United States Army Reserve in 2025, having achieved the rank of Colonel.

  • Served as both lead and supporting counsel in numerous civil trials in North Carolina federal and state courts.
  • Argued successfully before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the North Carolina Court of Appeals.
