JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (September 21, 2026) – Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP today announced the opening of its Jacksonville office, bringing the firm's total to 34 offices in the United States. The firm's first Florida location will be led by Office Managing Partner Michael Waskiewicz and includes partner Armando Nozzolillo and of counsel Robert Neilson, all members of the firm's Finance, Bankruptcy & Restructuring practice group.

Waskiewicz, Nozzolillo, and Neilson joined Womble earlier this year, bringing a national practice representing lenders, financial institutions, and other creditors in consumer and commercial matters. The team handles loan workouts, creditor-side litigation, judgment enforcement, and asset recovery, with particular depth in replevin, bankruptcy, and foreclosure matters in courts throughout the country.

Growth at Womble has never been about counting offices. It’s about building a platform where every addition strengthens the whole, and by that measure, Jacksonville is a significant opening. It puts us in Florida, it deepens our financial services bench, and it continues a period of growth that has meaningfully changed what we can do for clients,” said Merrick Benn, CEO and Chair of Womble Bond Dickinson (US).

The Jacksonville office strengthens the firm’s commitment to the financial services sector, one of the pillars of its strategic plan. The opening follows a period of significant growth in the firm’s financial services capabilities, including the January addition of a 36-person national Consumer Financial Services team of 19 attorneys and dedicated licensing professionals who advise banks, non-bank financial institutions, fintech companies, and other consumer-facing financial services providers on regulatory, compliance, licensing, supervisory, and enforcement matters.

Jacksonville is home for us, and we could not be more excited to establish Womble’s presence here,” said Waskiewicz. “This is a city where financial services companies don’t just operate — they grow. Between the concentration of banks, fintech companies, and mortgage and insurance businesses in Northeast Florida and the strength of the firm's national financial services platform, we see a tremendous opportunity to serve clients in this market and to build something meaningful over time.”

The opening continues the firm's recent geographic expansion, with offices added this year in Albany, Cleveland, and San Diego. The Jacksonville office is located at 10375 Centurion Parkway N., Suite 420.
