DENVER (March 31, 2025) – Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP is excited to welcome Chad Ergun as the firm’s new Chief Information Officer (CIO), effective April 1, 2025.

Ergun succeeds Brad Bragg, who has led the firm’s technology strategy and been a driving force behind Womble Bond Dickinson’s technological advancements since 2012.

Most recently, Ergun served as CIO at Lewis Roca, where he demonstrated his ability to implement game-changing solutions. From integrating Generative AI into daily operations to launching a robust law-practice management platform, his initiatives have transformed how law firms approach technology. In January 2025, Womble Bond Dickinson and Lewis Roca combined to create a 1,300-attorney, 37-office firm.

Chad brings with him over 25 years of experience in the technology sector and a proven track record of driving innovation and efficiency. Known for his forward-thinking approach, Chad has expertise in cutting-edge disciplines such as Generative AI, knowledge management, cybersecurity, eDiscovery, machine learning and data science. His leadership style focuses on leveraging modern technology to solve complex challenges, streamline processes, and inspire a culture of curiosity and continuous improvement.

Throughout his career, Chad has established himself as a respected thought leader in the intersection of technology and law. He has shared his knowledge widely through co-authored books, published articles, and presentations at international conferences. His contributions have consistently positioned the firms he’s worked with at the forefront of legal technology innovation.

Ergun holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, an M.S. in Engineering and Industrial Management from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Information Management from Stevens Institute of Technology with focus on neural networks, machine learning and generative AI.
