Lewis Roca Partner Appointed to Serve in Key Local Government Positions

DENVER (March 16, 2023) – Lewis Roca announced Dietrich C. Hoefner, a partner in the firm’s Litigation Practice Group, has been selected as a City Council Member for the City of Louisville, Colorado and as a Board Member for the Denver Regional Council of Governments.
As a Council Member for the City of Louisville, Hoefner represents Ward 3, advocating for the community's interests and guiding policy decisions. The City Council, consisting of six members and a Mayor, serves as the governing body of the city. In addition to his role as Council Member, Hoefner serves on the City’s Finance Committee and represents the City on the Denver Regional Council of Governments. These roles demonstrate his dedication to serving the Louisville community and promoting its interests both locally and regionally.
The Denver Regional Council of Governments brings together local government officials to shape regional planning and policymaking in vital areas such as transportation, land use, and aging. As a Board Member, Hoefner utilizes his experience, working alongside other representatives to make informed decisions and drive progress in these critical areas.
Hoefner’s law practice focuses on complex regulatory matters for a wide range of clients across numerous industries including energy, utilities, telecommunications, natural resources, and alcoholic beverages. He is also a member of the firm’s renewable energy decommissioning industry team, focusing on strategies to address and anticipate changing regulations affecting end-of-life issues for renewable energy facilities.
Prior to joining the firm, Hoefner was a lawyer at the Colorado Office of the Attorney General, where he worked on energy utility and consumer protection matters. He was also a research fellow at the Silicon Flatirons Center for Law, Technology, and Entrepreneurship, where he focused on energy regulation. Hoefner has been recognized in the “Ones to Watch” category in the area of energy law and natural resources law by The Best Lawyers in America for the past three years. Hoefner received his J.D. from the University of Colorado Law School and his A.B. from Lafayette College.
