Womble Bond Dickinson, an international law firm with 32 offices in the U.S. and UK, entered the Denver market in 2023. Already an established Energy and Natural Resources attorney in the market, Gutiérrez worked closely with Womble leaders to prepare, establish, and launch the Womble Bond Dickinson Denver Office. The University of Denver Sturm College of Law graduate has more than a decade of experience practicing in the Rocky Mountains, and her local connections and highly regarded reputation.
Gutiérrez counsels companies in the implementing compliance programs, climate initiatives, and transactional due diligence across a range of environmental issues relating to the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, public lands, the National Environmental Policy Act, the Endangered Species Act, the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration regulations, and other federal environmental statutes and regulations.
A Chambers-ranked Energy and Natural Resources attorney, she is a current Advisory Board Member of the Colorado Oil and Gas Association. She also has served as a Trustee for the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation for the past five years.
In addition, Gutiérrez is a leader in local Colorado communities, especially as a champion of diversity. She is deeply involved with the Colorado Pledge to Diversity program, a non-profit organization involving parties across the Colorado legal community that are committed to diversity and inclusiveness in the workplace. She recently completed a term as Co-President of Colorado Pledge to Diversity and was named a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Champion by the Denver Business Journal in 2023.
“Ana is a great partner, in every sense of the word. She is a strong lawyer, with deep and practical expertise in environmental regulation and in the energy and natural resources more generally. She is a partner to her clients. They rely on her not only for her legal acumen, but for her strategic insight and commitment to achieving the best possible outcome for that client. She acts as a partner to her colleagues at the firm, finding opportunities to cooperate on both work and client outreach. Finally, she is a partner and a mentor to young lawyers, not just in the firm but in the broader legal community. Her commitment to mentorship and diversity benefits the legal community (and the Denver community). Ana understands that the law is a profession based on service, and she embodies that commitment every day.”
