Womble Bond Dickinson Denver Office Co-Managing Partner Scot Anderson will be among the speakers at the National Academies Board on Earth Sciences and Resources Fall 2025 Meeting. The theme of this year’s BESR Fall Meeting is “Enhancing Uranium as a Domestic Source for Nuclear Energy”.

Anderson will participate in a panel discussion on “Where Can Science Address Regulatory and Societal Concerns?” He will be joined in the October 8 event by Richard Luarkie of the Payne Institute for Public Policy. BESR Board Member Jolante Van Wijk will moderate the discussion.

This meeting will explore current U.S. uranium production and its potential as a future domestic source for nuclear energy to enhance U.S. energy security. Speakers and panel discussions will consider the availability and economic viability of uranium in the U.S., extraction processes and regulations, and midstream processing such as milling. The BESR Fall Meeting will identify opportunities to enhance U.S. uranium production and consider knowledge and technology gaps and the social or regulatory concerns that may inhibit uranium production in the United States.
