In Raleigh and throughout the firm, we mourn the passing of our friend and partner Lisa Dixon. She was an extraordinary colleague, a gifted lawyer, and will be deeply missed.

Lisa joined Womble in 2012 with nearly three decades of experience in mergers and acquisitions and related corporate law. She represented clients in major M&A deals involving A-list brands in a wide range of sectors.  She was a consummate team builder and relationship broker for her clients, explaining why she was outside general counsel for numerous companies throughout her career.  She listened to her clients, understood what they needed and wanted, and made the connections necessary to get the job done.  She was ranked in The Best Lawyers of America, North Carolina Legal Elite and North Carolina Super Lawyers on multiple occasions.

She graduated magna cum laude from N.C. State University, and obtained her J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law.

Outside of her practice, Lisa was active in various philanthropic and civic organizations, including serving on the Artspace Board of Directors, a Raleigh-based non-profit visual arts center.

She passed on January 25, 2022 following a lengthy and heroic battle with cancer.  Our thoughts and prayers are with Lisa's loved ones including Jay Silver, her two sons whom she adored—T and James, stepdaughters Hannah and Taylor, and beloved family members and friends.

The obituary can be found here. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, February 5, at 11:00 a.m. at Hayes Barton United Methodist Church, Raleigh.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Lisa’s memory can be made to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, 4804 Page Creek Lane, Suite 118 Durham, NC 27703.
