Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP has appointed Atlanta Partner Laura Kees as its new Trademarks, Copyrights and Transactions Practice Group Leader effective June 1. Kees replaces Partner Sarah Keefe, who completed her term leading the team.

“I am honored to be chosen to lead this outstanding and growing team. Sarah accomplished great things during her tenure, and I look forward to working with our team to build on those achievements. I am also looking forward to working with my counterpart James Love in the United Kingdom,” Kees said.

The Trademarks, Copyrights and Transactions Practice Group recently made a major addition, with the addition of Womble Bond Dickinson’s New York office. In all, WBD’s Trademarks, Copyrights and Transactions Practice Group includes more than 20 attorneys that manage global trademark portfolios for some of the world’s most famous brands in multiple industries, including consumer products, retail, food and beverage, hospitality, financial services, energy, real estate, among others. WBD currently manages approximately 50,000 global trademarks.

Kees brings nearly two decades of trademark and copyright experience. Clients depend on her to manage their complex domestic and global trademark and copyright portfolios. Both Kees and Keefe are among the WBD attorneys recently named to World Trademark Review's WTR 1000 list of the world’s leading trademark professionals, and Kees is a frequent author on trademark and copyright topics.
