Womble Bond Dickinson partners Joe Whitley and Brett Switzer are both slated to speak on panels at the 8th Annual White Collar Crime Institute on September 7-9, 2022 at Chateau Élan Resort in Braselton, Georgia. Womble Bond Dickinson is a sponsor for the event, which is hosted by the American Bar Association’s Criminal Justice Section.

Whitley, the leader of WBD’s White Collar Defense and Government Investigations Team, will moderate a panel entitled “Monitorships 2022: A New Day.”  Panelists will discuss the increased use of corporate monitorships in the Biden Administration’s Department of Justice and what corporate leaders need to know to be prepared.

Switzer will moderate a panel entitled “Post-Conviction Relief Including Compassionate Release,” that focuses on tools at your disposal to overturn convictions, modify sentences, and obtain early release for clients.

This year’s program will cover a wide variety of white collar topics, including a 10-year retrospective of white collar issues and a look at where we are now; an ethics and professionalism discussion with Judges from the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Georgia; a Sentencing Guidelines presentation; a U.S. Attorney’s roundtable discussion; and a panel of career defense lawyers discussing post-conviction success stories.
