HOUSTON – Womble Bond Dickinson announced today that Michael E. Clark has joined the firm’s Business Litigation practice group and White-Collar Defense, Investigations and Regulatory Enforcement team as senior counsel. Clark, who has four decades of experience in both public and private practice, represents clients in complex litigation, including civil False Claims Act cases and investigations, as well as internal investigations, trials, and arbitrations. He also advises on regulatory compliance and corporate governance matters.

With a background that includes serving as lead counsel in more than 100 jury trials and managing dozens of appeals, Clark has handled high-stakes matters for clients across a broad spectrum of industries, including healthcare, financial services, environmental, and energy. Before entering private practice, Clark served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of Texas. His roles included serving as the chief of the Criminal and Financial Fraud Divisions. Prior to that, Clark served as Assistant District Attorney in Galveston County, Texas.

Clark received his J.D. from South Texas College of Law and his LL.M. in Tax and LL.M. in Health Law from the University of Houston Law Center. He received his B.A. from the University of Texas, Arlington. He has been recognized as a leading lawyer by The Best Lawyers in America in Health Care Law, Criminal Defense: White Collar, and Commercial Litigation.
