Thu Nguyen is a patent agent with more than seven years of experience managing and developing patent portfolios, drafting patent applications, prosecuting domestic and foreign patent applications, and conducting patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses for clients in a law firm setting. In foreign patent application prosecution, she enjoys gaining knowledge about particular patent practice in each jurisdiction. She enjoys learning about inventions and capturing these as valuable assets for clients. She has worked with clients representing single inventors, biotechnology companies, non-profit entities, universities, and research institutes. She has worked on inventions related to: agricultural biotechnology; industrial biotechnology; therapeutics including antibodies, cell therapies, chimeric antigen receptors, and nanoparticles; gene editing; biomarkers; and diagnostics.

Prior to her law firm positions, Thu previously held roles as an IP Manager and research scientist for a private agricultural biotechnology company. As IP manager, she managed a patent portfolio and executed IP strategies in conjunction with in-house executives and outside counsel. She brings more than 15 years of experience in research focused on development of early stage agricultural and industrial biotechnologies.
