Sam Campbell focuses his practice on patent prosecution and a variety of transactional and strategic intellectual property matters. Sam prepares and prosecutes foreign and domestic patents as well as counsel clients on intellectual property and business matters related to electronics, computer software and hardware, and communications, including electronic circuits, computer architecture, compilers, operating systems, networks, signal processing and web technology. He also assists clients with the evaluation, development and management of their patent portfolios. 

In addition, Sam has experience drafting patent licensing agreements, technology development/transfer agreements, subscription agreements, reseller agreements, beta release agreements and similar documents.

Sam’s technical skills and experience include the design and development of electronic and computer hardware/software systems, as well as the management of such projects. He has worked in the areas of mixed-signal integrated circuit design, the design of EDA software, GUI programming, operating system and compiler design, the design/development of networking and communications hardware and software, digital signal processing and computer graphics programming.

Prior to beginning his legal career, Sam held a variety of technical and management positions. As a co-founder of Logic Link, Inc., Sam was responsible for all aspects of the software engineering firm’s day-to-day operations, including project staffing, product planning, contract negotiations and fiscal policy. He also held design and project engineering positions at various defense contractors, where he designed and developed hardware and software for computer networking, communications systems, defense systems and secure computing.
