Blake Holt focuses his practice on patent prosecution and intellectual property litigation for clients in the software and electrical fields. He counsels clients on intellectual property issues with an emphasis on domestic and foreign patent procurement, patent enforcement, and patent defense in a variety of technology areas, including computer software, artificial intelligence, cryptography, anti-virus and cybersecurity, semiconductors and semiconductor packaging, wireless communications (3G/4G/5G, Bluetooth, WLAN), digital and analog circuits, autonomous vehicles and LIDAR, NAND memory, networking protocols, cloud computing and content delivery networks, and medical devices. He has more than 15 years of electrical engineering experience in the telecommunication industry.

Prior to beginning his legal career, Blake worked as a Staff RF Analog Product Engineer at Qualcomm where he led the product and test engineering for several generations of Radio Frequency Integrated Circuits (RFIC) supporting 3G and 4G standards, along with Qualcomm’s first WLAN RFIC and first FM RFIC, and multiple Bluetooth System-On-Chip RFICs. He also served as a key technical resource for the portfolio managing attorney, acting as a voting member on one of Qualcomm’s Patent Review Boards.

Blake’s previous engineering experience also includes working at RFMD as a Senior Bluetooth Product Engineer and at Vitesse Semiconductor Corporation as an Application & Software Validation Engineer and a Characterizaton Engineer.

Prior to joining Womble, Blake served as Associate Attorney at an international law firm.
