LOS ANGELES (June 5, 2024) – Womble Bond Dickinson today announced that Kyle Kessler, CIPP/E, has joined the firm’s Los Angeles office as a partner in the Privacy and Cybersecurity group. She has extensive experience advising national and international companies on transactional and regulatory compliance, focusing on privacy, cybersecurity, and consumer protection.

Kessler joins a dedicated team that advises clients across all sectors on privacy and cybersecurity matters, including new and evolving state privacy and data breach laws, the EU and UK GDPR and international data transfers, and laws tied to specific data types (e.g., biometric, consumer health/activities). The team also counsels clients on automated decision-making and other forms of artificial intelligence.

Kessler arrives from Orrick, where she was a member of the firm’s DEI Committee and co-chair of its LGBTQ+ Affinity Group. Before private practice, she was an in-house attorney at a multinational fast-fashion retailer, gaining experience in data protection, incident response, unfair and deceptive trade practices, retail laws, and consumer protection matters.

Kessler graduated from Southwestern Law School and earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Notre Dame. She is an active member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), Leadership Council on Legal Diversity, Women in Security and Privacy, and the LGBT Bar Association of Los Angeles.
