NEW YORK (January 30, 2026) – Womble Bond Dickinson announced today that Andrew S. Wein has joined the firm’s Consumer Financial Services Team as a partner in its New York office. Wein brings more than 25 years of experience advising financial institutions and related businesses on consumer financial services regulatory compliance, litigation, and enforcement matters.
Wein’s practice spans nearly every stage of the consumer lending lifecycle. He represents clients in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies, and advises on licensing, corporate governance, and complex transactions, including due diligence for asset acquisitions, compliance reviews, and mortgage servicing rights, as well as the negotiation of servicing agreements and related contracts.
With a focus on mortgage lending and servicing, and drawing on significant in-house experience, Wein defends financial institutions in litigation and regulatory matters involving state and federal agencies. His experience includes matters arising under TILA, RESPA, FCRA, FDCPA, TCPA, HMDA, and the SAFE Act, as well as analogous state laws. He also advises clients on data privacy and consumer data issues, including for businesses operating outside traditional financial services models.
“Andrew’s experience across mortgage lending, regulatory enforcement, and in-house operations adds meaningful depth to our consumer financial services platform,” said Taber Cathcart, co-leader of Womble’s Financial Services Sector. “His ability to integrate litigation strategy, compliance requirements, and business realities is exactly what clients need as regulatory scrutiny continues to intensify.”
Wein earned his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and his B.A. from Columbia University. He joins Womble from McGlinchey Stafford.
