White Collar and Government Investigations Partner Luke Cass Joins Womble Bond Dickinson

WASHINGTON, D.C – Womble Bond Dickinson is proud to announce that Luke Cass joined our firm today as a partner in the Washington, D.C. office. With more than 16 years of experience, most as a federal prosecutor, Cass’s practice focuses on white collar and government investigations, including health care fraud, conspiracy, mail and wire fraud, embezzlement, bank fraud, and money laundering. His practice also extends to internal investigations with particular emphasis on matters of bribery, misbranding, and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.

“Time and again, Luke proved himself at DOJ. Now, he as demonstrated success at the difficult migration from government service to private practice, and has built a well-respected white collar practice in Washington. Anyone who understands the D.C. legal market knows that is no easy feat,” said Chris Jones, who leads the firm’s Business Litigation Practice Group and serves as a member of the firm’s executive committee. “Luke’s experience, skills and network will serve our clients well, and we are thrilled that he chose to bring his practice to Womble.”

Prior to private practice, Cass served as a Senior Trial Attorney with the Public Integrity Section of the US Department of Justice’s Criminal Division where he led corruption investigations and prosecutions of public officials. He also served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Financial Fraud and Corruption Unit of the US Attorney’s Office for the District of Puerto Rico.

In addition to his extensive federal trial experience, Cass has also briefed and argued appeals before the US Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.

Cass earned his law degree from New York Law School and clerked in the US District Court for the Eastern District of New York. He is an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University Law Center and he is fluent in French and Spanish.
