Mark Tuft Honored as a California Top Professional Responsibility Attorney for 2025

For the fourth consecutive year, Womble Bond Dickinson Partner Mark Tuft has been named one of California’s Top Professional Responsibility Attorneys by the Daily Journal of Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Holding certification as a legal malpractice specialist from the California State Bar, Tuft is renowned for representing clients in matters related to professional responsibility and liability.
Tuft is a former chair and special advisor to the California State Bar Committee on Professional Responsibility and Conduct and is a former president of the Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers. He served as a member of the California State Bar Commission for the Revision of the Rules of Professional Conduct that drafted the current ethics rules for California lawyers. In addition, Tuft has taught professional responsibility as an adjunct professor at the University of San Francisco School of Law. He frequently lectures on legal ethics for a variety of organizations, include the ABA, PLI, the Rutter Group, various law schools and bar associations and has received several teaching awards. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Bar Association of San Francisco and formerly chaired its ethics committee.
In addition, Tuft is a member of the ABA Center for Professional Responsibility, where he recently served as chair of the Center’s editorial board, and the American Law Institute. He is co-author of the California Practice Guide on Professional Responsibility and Liability published by a division of Thomson Reuters.
He was awarded the 2022 Harry B. Sondheim Professional Responsibility Award by the California Lawyers Association for his long term work in advancing attorney professional standards in California.
