HOUSTON—Womble Bond Dickinson attorney Karthika Perumal, Ph.D. has been named President-Elect of the Licensing Executives Society (LES) USA & Canada for 2021-2022.
Karthika has served on the LES Board of Directors since 2019. An LES member for more than 15 years, she also served as served as a Co-Chair for the 2020 LES (USA and Canada) annual meeting, and Chair for the LES Life Sciences Sector Executive Committee.
For over 50 years, LES has been a leading association for intellectual property, technology, and business development professionals. The group brings IP and licensing groups together to network, collaborate and discuss some of the most critical issues facing the industry today and tomorrow. LES is a member society of the Licensing Executives Society International, Inc. (LESI), which has 32 sister societies representing 9,000 members in 90 countries.
Karthika’s practice involves all aspects of technology law with an emphasis on the protection, acquisition, and monetization of intellectual property. She advises clients on patent and transactional matters in the healthcare and energy sectors across a wide range of technologies, such as biotechnology, biomedical devices, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, oil and gas processing, and software.
