The Los Angeles and San Francisco Daily Journal has honored Womble Bond Dickinson Partner Mark Tuft as one of California’s Top Professional Responsibility Attorneys of 2023. Tuft is profiled in the current edition of the Daily Journal.
This recognition comes just months after Tuft was honored by the California Lawyers Association as the 2022 recipient of the Harry B. Sondheim Professional Responsibility Award.
Tuft is certified as a legal malpractice specialist by the California State Bar and represents clients on matters involving professional responsibility and liability.
“For years, I have been outside counsel to lawyers, law firms, corporations, government, and private organizations on what is commonly characterized as the law governing lawyers,” Tuft told the Daily Journal. “I’m often contacted when lawyers have complex ethical issues and professional liability problems, and they need someone to help resolve them.”
He is a former chair and special advisor to the California State Bar Committee on Professional Responsibility and Conduct and is a former president of the Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers. In addition, Tuft has taught professional responsibility as an adjunct professor at the University of San Francisco School of Law. He frequently lectures on legal ethics for a variety of organizations, include the ABA, PLI, the Rutter Group, various law schools and bar associations and has received several teaching awards. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Bar Association of San Francisco and formerly chaired its ethics committee.
Tuft is a member of the ABA Center for Professional Responsibility, where he currently chairs the Center’s editorial board, and the American Law Institute. He is co-author of the California Practice Guide on Professional Responsibility published by a division of Thomson Reuters.
