Law360 has named Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP a 2026 North Carolina Powerhouse. Each year, the publication's Regional Powerhouse series spotlights standout law firms in key U.S. legal markets. Womble was one of just four firms recognized in North Carolina and one of 57 nationwide to make the list.

In an in-depth profile accompanying the recognition, Law360 highlights the firm’s strong local roots while noting its many recent litigation and transactional successes in the state. The honor underscores what has already been a landmark year for the firm, as it celebrates its 150th anniversary.

Law360 also spoke with the firm's three North Carolina office managing partners: Jon Mize (Raleigh and Research Triangle Park), John Morrow (Greensboro and Winston-Salem), and Sarah Motley Stone (Charlotte).

Mize said it is “a good time to be a law firm in North Carolina,” noting the influx of businesses relocating to or expanding in the state.

“The state's quality of life is contributing to its growth,” Morrow said. "We're doing highly sophisticated work, but we're living in cities in North Carolina where you don't necessarily have all the hustle and bustle that you see in major cities.”

Stone noted that Womble's North Carolina clients “reflect the full sweep of the state's economy.”

A century and a half after its founding, the firm remains a trusted resource for companies doing business in the Tar Heel State.

Mize told Law360, "If you're a business that's been here as long as we have, 150 years, we represent those. But if you're new to the area, we're one of the first firms you call."
