Government Shutdown - 2019 Budget Dispute

On December 22, 2018, the US federal government entered a partial shutdown, after President Donald Trump and Congress were unable to reach a budget agreement for 2019. The shutdown—which is now the longest in US history—furloughed hundreds of thousands of federal workers and shuttered many government functions. While much of the focus understandably has been on these impacted workers and agencies, the government shutdown is also affecting the private sector in many ways, both large and small.
